The Dutch Courage.
The band, composed of Lorenzo T., previously in Nasten'ka and Stefano S., previously in The Frozen Fracture,
got together originally in December 1998. The principal idea was the mess around with the output of a
synth/keyboard (GEM mod. DSK 5/8) by feeding it to analogue filters, and to play it loud through a rather crappy
solid state bass amplifier. The sound landscape was enriched by a few microphones placed in the room,
deliberately utilised to produce feedbacks, and by obsessively dilated guitar lines. These ensemble
had a rather short lifespan of a few months. It rapidly grew unpopular in the neighbourhood, to the
local police and even to the gendarmerie, Carabinieri, to be more specific. This, together with the
commitments of Lorenzo toward Nasten'ka, decreted the premature fading of the project. Nevertheless,
they had the habit of tape everything they played, and inevitably those tapes have resurfaced. Under My
Bed has taken the freedom of put together a small album with the best episodes, in an EP entitled
Collected Wreckages, the title of which almost perfectly
depicts the atmosphere and the almost physical
texture of these compositions. The EP features a unique packaging, containing a mini-poster and a
little novel associated with each episode. It was pressed in 20 copies only. We hope you will
enjoy it., More Miscellaneous @ the band website

TECHNICAL:
These tracks were recorded sometimes between December 1998
and March 1999 in our rehearsal room, set-up in Lorenzo's basement.
The technical details are so far vanished at the bottom of our brains.
However, we recorded the pieces live, using two michrophones, possibly Phillips,
mod. "pesciolini
pesci", fed directly into a JVC stereo cassette unit. Tapes were Ferric type.
Digitalisation were obtain by a 24-bit PC soundcard (Edirol). The tracks were
mastered simultaneously using analagoue compressor and parametric equaliser, connected
in series. Mastered by My Dear Killer @ MafarKa.
