:Label
Under My Bed, is a No-Profit label based in Milan (Italy) and London, (U.K.), founded in 2001. The Under My Bed Recordings is dedicated to home-recording productions. For us, do-it-yourself is a choise and an attitude, not a budget limitation. Hence, we preferentially produce minimalist folk, pop and, more rarely, electrocnic acts. We prefer to listen to Fe-magnetic supports, but anything else would be simply fine. We do love tapes indeed.

My Dear Serial Killer My Dear Serial Killer
1/3; 2/3; 3/3
My Dear serial Killer is a series of mini-CD, compiled by Boring Machines. Each of the splits contains three songs, in which My dear Killer appears in variety of forms, ranging from the simplest guitar &voice minimalism, through the landscape layering technique which characterises the first full length album, Clinical Shyness, through an almost full band formation. This is, despite the tile, all but a serialisation, rather a journey into the heart of the meticulous chiselling leading to the definition of an almost the unique, and unmistakable style of song-writing

My Dear Killer My Dear Killer
Clinical Shyness
UMB #2
The title of the album, Clinical Shyness, is definitely self-explanatory. The record is released by a syndicate of record labels composed of Madcap Collective, Under My Bed, Eaten By Squirrels and Boring Machines. The album collects the most significant material recoded by My Dear Killer during the past five years and which have been rearranged and manipulated during winter of 2005. The result is a thirty-minutes-long collection of songs, which puts together with the intimacy of song writing with a the widespread landscape of noises and feedbacks in which the melody's arpeggios and whispered murmurs are submerged, reproducing the environmentin which these little portraits of loneliness have been compiled.

5 pezzi facili Mr 60-The Frozen Fracture
5 Pezzi Facili [2/5]
UMB #15
Thsi is the second split of the 5 Pezzi Facili series. Mr.60's "Concepto:desperato" is a metaphoric journey through which the band explores its vast compositive possibility given by ability of the members to apaly seval instruments. The mellow and subtitle irony of which this halp of the EP is impregnated constitutes Mr 60s trademark. The Frozen Fracture contribution "Rare Earths Noble Gases" is also a time-travel journey cobining songs recorded uning Fisher-Price microphones, VHS recorder and other sort of oddity. It is an unusually random brick-a-brak and the ultimate experience of a musical project failure.

    The Bank Holiday Session
    UMB#21
Debut of Atlas Cedar, released by Under my bed. The only superficial harmonic simplicity, chiselled by painstaking guitar and mellow singing confers an understate tone to this song collection. Arranged with simplicity and elegance, the Bank Holiday Session is a majestic collection of unpretentious tunes, on the verge between introspective and minimalist song-writing.

Thehe Easter EP is Boxing Day's lunch to Clinical Shyness. It collects alternative takes and complementary interpretations of songs which either appear, or that have been not been included in the final form of Clinical Shyness.Nonetheless, appealing in its lo-fidelity approach, particularly in the sparse use of the drum set and stylistically coherent.

    My Love, A Definition
    UMB#8
Possibly the best representation of the so-called bedroom scene attitude, and precisely as introspective folk song wring is about. My Dear Killer picks his guitar and sings, in from a cassette tape recorder, in his bedroom or the lounge or the kitchen. It does not really matter. Without production or overdubbing or any embellishment. This is just how the songs flow, precisely as composed, never mind the background noise from the motorway: he says a waitress. THEfogINtheSHELL, alternates episode of pure intimacy (Song for E., Song for M.), with the cold comfort of the band's rehearsals with some friends (Song for F.), and also collects a live performance of its early days classic Sorry: he says a slumber

    Cinque Pezzi Facili [1/5]
    UMB#14
Lorca's Lorca's Some Kind of Payoff is a collection of five mellow, melancholic and minimalist songs, tendered in an ethereal and diffused atmosphere. Pillow's She takes you, She leaves you softly walks through sorrowful acoustic tunes, in which the dust stuck behind the corners lightened by the yellow of fluorescent lamps can be breath.

    Sylvia Plath Tribute
    UMB#12
Released on 29th anniversary of the poet's departure, I am vertical the Under My Bed tribute to the work of Sylvia Plath. The poem is subjected to very personal interpretations by The Frozen Fracture, Morose and Buiomega. The different approach of the three band towards the interpretation of the lyrics, and how to put them into a solely musical form (in the but I would rather be horizontal instrumental take), set a tone of multifaceted variety to this album. Either in the noisy approach of Buiomega, or in the reflective attitude of Morose, though the clear-cut guitar style of The Frozen Fracture, it is the ultimate beauty of the poet's lyrics which uncovers and permeates this record.

  • Lorca Lorca
    Any old things will do
Lorca's Any old things will do is a astonishing collection of acoustic portraits laying in between the intimacy of songwriters' introspection and the murmurs of modern approach to folk spirit. The tasteful arrangements and care for apparent insignificant datails, together with the neatness of excusions, makes it a record rich of hidden surspises which slowly emerge after each listening.

    Graceland
    UMB#24
Having spent time in several rock and post-punk bands in the 90s, Jeffrey began writing and recording his own songs in early 2003. Recording mostly at home on a limited budget, and even more limited equipment, Jeffrey wears his influences on his sleeve while maintaining his own unique lyrical vision and melodic eccentricities. With a songwriting style often compared to Grant Lee Buffalo and The Jayhawks, Jeffrey found a fan in Thomas Heath, owner and operator ofIndiana's Tract Records.

  • My Dear Killer
My Dear Killer started as a parellel project to The Frozen Fracture and and Dutch Courage. It blends the neatness of two apparently unsynchronised guitar style of the former and the periodic ad libitum noise evolution of the latter together with a somewhat more traditional ballad form of the singer-songwriter tradition, making it an almost unique act. The fist LP, entitled Clinical Shyness [umb #02] has been released in 2005.
  • THEfogINtheSHELL
THEfogINtheSHELL stated a one-man-band. In the more classical Lo-Fi tradition it used to compose, play and record his songs on tapes in possibly warmest bedroom in town. A loft of a block of flat in Milan, with a view on a garage. Undoubtedly pivotal in the development of the Italian so-called bedroom scene, it gradually acquired a drummer, and subsequently grew in a full band form, embracing influences of post-rock and the hard-core roots of founding and current members of the band. They first LP, A Secret North was released by Dufresne records in 2004.
  • Mr60
Mr60 is a very eclectic and unusual collective, capable of switching between classical instrument and toy instruments collected at a local funfair. The song writing style of Mr60 is original and characteristic. It melts the subtle irony of the lyrics with mellow tunes which take benefit from the histrionic ability of the band's member to alternate amongst different instruments. They contributed to the second volume of the 5 Pezzi Facili split series, with Concepto:desperato [umb #15].

  • ONQ
Under My Bed is absolutely delighted to host ONQ website. Luca Galuppini is the main promoter of the ONQ project, which started as, and, more recently reacquired the form of, a one-man-band. Undoubtly one of the most interesting musical project appeared on the Italian soil in the last ten years. ONQ has a vast back-catalogue which is freely downloadable. It has featured in several compilation and 7" mainly released abroad (Germany and the US) while it has been substantially ignored in his own coutry: a crime against intelligence.
  • My Shell
My Shell is the solo acoustic project, of Matteo, previously also in Nasten'ka and BuioOmega, amongst the others. My Shell composes melancholic, slow, reflective ballands, in which acoustic guitar, grandpiano and a feable dash of the voice are melt together in a harmonic and subtile blend, My Shell is probably the most secretive and undiscoled pearl amongs italian singer-songwriter.
  • The Frozen Fracture
The Frozen Fracture: guitar stereo band, started as acoustic set-up but turned telectric shortly after that. The Frozen Fracture, has developed over a period of almost ten years, a extremely personal style exploiting the minimal organic of the bad, being able not to a force a forged minimalist style and researching towards the suppression of useless embellishments and technical exhibitionism. They achieve so by chiseling evolution and variation of simple melodic themes, making the best of metrical freedom associated with the absence of a rhythmic session in the band.
  • Fong
Listen to something that, according to this ensamble manifesto, does NOT exist: music.
  • Belongs To Me
    One-man-band performing a psycho-minimal folk...Still alive.
  • Kech

  • Something Faded

  • Nasten'ka
